Labour market activities
The key task of ET’s Labour Market Division is management of collective agreements for personnel employed by the member companies. ET’s labour market activities also include a diverse advisory service and other personnel-related training for member companies. It also organises events on topical labour market issues. The Labour Market Division also manages occupational safety issues related to entrepreneurship, as well as supervision of the sector’s interests in labour market and education policy. It also produces a number of statistical reports on salaries, wages and working hours.
When ET’s actual operations began on 1 January 2005 the labour market activities transferred to the new organisation from the Finnish Energy Industries Federation (Finergy) and the Finnish Association of Energy Employers (Enerta). Previously, labour market activities in the energy sector were managed, e.g. in the Finnish Association of Power Plant Employers (VTL) and the Finnish Association of Electrical and Telecommunications Employers (STAT). Therefore, collective bargaining has long traditions in the sector.
