Becoming a District Heating Customer
District heat is suitable for all types of buildings: detached houses, blocks of flats, office and commercial buildings, educational establishments, and industry. Heating of indoor spaces can be divided comfortably between water-circulated radiators and underfloor heating systems. It is also sensible to connect the underfloor heating of washrooms and the heating of supply air in ventilation machines to district heating.
As a district heating customer, you can save energy and money without great investments. With correct and well-advised use of heating equipment, energy is saved without having to compromise over the requirements of healthy and comfortable living. When the equipment is in good condition, the room temperature remains comfortable and stable and there is always enough hot tap water of the correct temperature.
Buildings in the vicinity of the district heating network may be connected to district heat. District heat is also built in new areas when a sufficient number of houses join the district heating network. Information about the possibility of joining the district heating network is available from the local district heating company.
The local district heating company will submit a quotation on the costs of connection and use on the basis of the basic information of the building. The customer will conclude a written heat contract with the district heating company.
The customer pays a connection fee for joining the district heating network. The fee varies according to location and the size of the house. The energy consumption of the building will be metered. The customer will pay the heating bill, which is determined on the basis of consumption. The heating bill also includes the power charge determined according to the capacity required by the property.
