Energy and the environment are closely linked to one another. All energy production and use have an impact on the environment one way or another. Climate change resulting from an increase in greenhouse gases is one example that affects the entire globe. For this reason, energy policy is implemented with a strong emphasis on climate and the environment. The Finnish energy industry also aims for energy generation that produces as few emissions as possible.
